MUMBAI: Activists in Bandra and Juhu are once again taking up the issue of the elevated Metro-II line.
Shyama Kulkarni of AGNI said, "While the Juhu Vile Parle Residents' Association has written to the CM as well as MPs in the city. We will take up the issue with the chief minister."
Activist Sherly Singh said, "We have pointed out to chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and MPs that the finances of the project are not in order." She added, "The BMC's standing committee has disallowed the use of 4,000 sq metres of space at each station on the route as commercial area at a meeting on September 29."
Bandra and Juhu citizens groups have been campaigning for the last two years to have the Metro route underground from Andheri to Bandra to ensure less damage to residences and commercial establishments.
